Ordo's story begins in 1978
Like so many great stories, ours began with a remarkable mother.

My mother Andrea dedicated her career to school food

As a child nutrition educator at Great Neck Public Schools, Andrea Rosenblume stressed the importance of eating fresh, whole foods. She carried that belief back home where she made dinner every night, which inspired her son Hunter to start Ordo.
Over 35 years at one district

Now it's a national movement.

What began as an idea in a public school district 35 years ago has grown into the fastest-growing school food service company in America. Through homestyle meals made with whole ingredients and a powerful technology platform, Ordo provides an unparalleled school cafeteria experience for schools. Ordo and its founders have been featured on publications across the country like Forbes, recognizing them for their work in improving access to fresh food for children.
We're scaling fresh, whole foods
At Ordo, we believe that fresh, healthy food should be available and affordable for every student. We don’t think ultra-processed foods should be a part of a growing child’s diet, much less what they eat everyday. All of our meals are prepared using whole ingredients and made from scratch, from the grilled chicken to the muffins.

Our menu philosophy is simple
Make what students love, and do it forever.
Everything we make is fresh and familiar, like our Swedish Meatballs dish inspired by IKEA. We just do it from scratch with local fresh produce, and rotate the menu seasonally for variety.

We're pioneers in Farm-to-School

At Ordo, serving our local communities goes well beyond nourishing students. Our entire model revolves around connecting schools with local chefs and local ingredients. There are 3 reasons we do this:
It's better. It's healthier. And it just makes cents—because local food doesn't have a manufacturer's markup or delivery fees.
Our model ensures quality nationwide

We've designed our menus and supply chains around fresh food. Our recipes use ingredients that we can procure reliably and usually locally. On the backend, our technology automates compliance documentation so we can execute scratch-made cooking at hundreds of kitchens across the country. Our ingredients and components are 100% compliant for reimbursements in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and other USDA CNPs.
Ordo increases participation by as much as 116%

In the San Francisco Bay Area, Ross Valley School District switched to Ordo and participation more than doubled in the first month. Scratch-made meals made a huge difference for the community.
That wasn't achieved with cafeteria flyers or one-off tastings—just consistent, high quality food service.
Our chefs are experts at fresh

Our 500+ professional chefs across the country prepare fresh meals every day for our schools and districts. We recruit real chefs who have significant experience in cooking from scratch, unlike most companies. Our entire model revolves around connecting schools with local chefs and ingredients from local suppliers.
We're available 24/7 to support schools

Ordo is committed to providing responsive and effective customer service through a dedicated team of Customer Service (CS) staff available 24/7 to address issues, questions, or concerns. This service is available to both administrators and families, enabling all stakeholders to reach out to Ordo at any time.
Our technology simplifies compliance

Our team leverages technology to make school meals easier, better, and consistently compliant. Our software—for schools, chefs, and families—is included free of charge. Administrators or families can log in and place their orders. We've developed new automation tools that make it easy for schools to generate production records, delivery tickets, and meal counts for all USDA CNPs.
Our Investors
We've raised institutional capital from top investors in our space like Accel, XYZ Ventures, Dan Carroll, Max Mullen, and Jinal Jhaveri to become an established player in the school food industry.
